This August I was invited by Lauren Ryan Photography to join her on two weddings as her second shooter. The catch was these weddings were in Seattle. Being that they would be my very first two weddings as a budding photographer I had to take the opportunity! Lauren and I have been Facebook friends for years. She reached out to me long ago, because we have the same last (maiden) names. We are unsure of any actual relation, but we instantly clicked and it turns out we ended up taking the same paths in life...we are both designers turned photographers. Needless to say we now call each other cousins and she has been such an incredible source of encouragement and information as I started my business this year.
This wedding took place at a beautifully rehabbed farm house about an hour from Seattle. The ceremony overlooked the water and the mountain skyline. Judy and Minh are college sweethearts and have a handsome son and cute dog together, who were both at the wedding. Staying true to the couple's Chinese heritage, they had a traditional tea ceremony preceding dinner. Dinner was provided by a local food truck that featured delicious asian inspired food. Judy and Minh took time to visit with every guest table and their friends had them participate in various games, making for a fun reception.
I had such an amazing experience at this wedding and appreciate Lauren's patience and guidance. It was so much fun spending time with her and her hubby Max and I also really enjoyed getting know Seattle. This has solidified that I am doing what I love and I am surrounded by amazing people who have faith in me!
