This session is special to me, because of how I met Erica. My hubby, Tyler and I were heading to New Orleans for our birthday trip and Erica was seated on the plane right next to me. We chatted about NoLa and since she had gone to school there was able to give me lots of great travel tips. I brought up my profession and she said she actually needed an engagement photographer. I gave her my card and said if she liked my work to definitely give me a call when we got back to Philly. Needless to say, she contacted me and we planned for a date in June.
June has been a very rainy month here in Philly, so I tentatively went into this photoshoot. Even though rain was in the forecast, the weather was holding off. I met Erica and Henry in the Society Hill neighborhood, which is a very beautiful and historic area in Philadelphia. When Erica arrived I could see the despair in her face because it started to rain. Erica and Henry are both attorney's so their schedules do not allow for much else during the week - I knew we had to complete this shoot today. Since it was only at a drizzle I decided to begin the photoshoot and hope for the best. As we kept walking the rain began to wain and the sun even came out!
This couple was so sweet to work with. Erica didn't need any direction, she was a total natural in front of the camera. And when we wrapped, they invited me to Pizzeria Stella for a cocktail. We chatted about the weather (shortly after sitting down it started pouring!) and about our backgrounds. I discovered that Henry is from Indianapolis and Erica is from Cincinnati (where the wedding will be). They both met while in law school in New Orleans. Erica landed a job in Philly, so Henry took a leap of faith and followed her here. Needless to say the rest is history. I am so grateful for our chance encounter on the plane and I wish these two a wonderful life together!
