I majored in Graphic Design at the Catholic University of America in DC. After graduation I took a solo trip to Florence, Italy for 3 months. I studied the language and worked at a design firm. This trip solidified my love of design and travel.
Several years later I met my husband in Philadelphia, where I’m from. We married and then moved out to Colorado to pursue his career. I’m a city girl through and through, but I embraced the West with an open mind and fell in love with hiking and our two rescue pups, Ali and Rex. After 2 years we were given the opportunity to move back to Philly and have been happily living here in the city with our 3 rescue pups (yes we adopted a third one, whose name is Snow).
After several jobs changes in the design field and much encouragement from my friends and family, I finally decided to pursue my true love. And in 2015 I started Bella Gioia Photography. The name is an ode to my grandmother, Nonny who always called me Francesca Gioia, which means “joy” in Italian.
I enjoy shooting families and couples in the Greater Philadelphia area and I look forward to meeting you, learning your stories and capturing all of your special moments!
